I absolutely love my Ritter slicer. It’s made so well. It’s solid, easy to use, and cuts my sourdough bread easily. I like how that when closed that the blade is slightly covered and so no risk of accidentally cutting myself. I use it daily.

This bread slicer is a GAME CHANGER, to say the least. My sourdough and artisian breads slice like a dream. I do not know how I ever lived without this amazing piece of equipment. Works great, well engineered. Pricey, but if it holds up long term, it will be worth it. I use it for sourdough which isn't always easy to slice uniformly. If you don't mind spending the bucks, I would recommend.

This slicer is a centerpiece in our home. It is gorgeous. Guests are able to use it intuitively. It turns cutting sourdough from a chore into an effortless achievement. Everybody in my house now reacts with joy instead of dread when cutting bread.

Slices through the chewy crust of my homemade sourdough bread like a warm knife through soft butter. Great quality, easy to use, and fully adjustable.

I purchased this for my wife as an additional gift to accompany her new Zojirushi bread maker. Yeah - it’s expensive. But dang, this thing is quality. It only has like, five parts. And I can take every one of them apart and service or replace them if I wanted to. It’s wild to me that you have to spend so much money nowadays just to have something that simple and built to last. That aside, we love this thing. I’ll be getting the blade that cuts deli meat so we can get even more use out of this slicer. 10-10 would buy again (after I’m finished paying this first one off lol)

I did a ton of reseach before deciding to go for the Ritter bread slicer. It is defitinely not cheap but considering that it is something I will use for a long time and that it involves a sharp blade that can potentially hurt the user, I decided to invest in a machine that is well designed and well thought off. First off, there are several safety guards. The thumb guard on the bread cart, the plastic leftover holder to push the last bits of bread without risking your fingers!
Also it is extremely well thought in regards to maintenance, it is very easy to assemble and dissassemble with one coin, no tools needed. You can tell this is a German design.
So as the saying goes, spend once and cry once. Don't go cheap on things where you may lose your fingers.

I bake a lot of bread and needed a slicer to get even slices, especially when cutting sandwich bread (Toastbrot). I knew I would get a high quality slicer with Ritter. It cuts extremely well, doesn’t take up much space, and looks really nice on our kitchen counter.

First was a gift. Rave reviews from the family, they use it daily. This one was a newer version with a wood plate. Just as good. This is well worth the investment. Pays for itself if you buy bulk or make bread.

I grew up with a version one of these. I’d forgotten all about it until my sister reminded me. So I sought this out. I couldn’t be more delighted - it appeared better engineered than alternatives I considered and I wasn’t disappointed. It shipped quickly. The only thing that is a little tricky is that the suction cups are necessary to keep it stable on the kitchen counter, but my wife also likes to tuck it away under the overhang of the counter, so we have to unstick it too. Perhaps if it were heavier or had a non-slip base, that would work better? It is expensive, but I don't regret the purchase.

I recently purchased a manual Ritter Slicer, primarily for my sourdough bread. I also purchased a second blade for soft foods, which I have not used as yet. The Slicer is exceptional, it is everything I expected and more. It looks fantastic, which is great, because I want to leave it out so that I have quick access to it. It is quite an expensive piece of equipment, but worth every dollar. I would much prefer to buy quality and not waste money on replacing cheaper items. Loewen-META were brilliant. I live in Australia and the slicer arrived promptly and very well packaged. It’s always a bit scary buying on-line from anywhere really, but when it is from the other side of the world and you don’t really know the company, it is even more worrying. You need not worry at all with Loewen-META, they are exceptional, and I would highly recommend them.

I’ve only sliced bread, but I love this slicer. I like my slices thinner than normal, but you can choose how thick you’d like. Plus it’s fast and easy to clean. I love it!

We use our Ritter Amano slicer to slice loaves of bread. It will cut softer breads as well as crusty sourdough. The Amano is built stoutly and does not flex in use as cheaper manual slicers may. Cleaning the slicer is easy.

Fantastic for slicing my sourdough breads. Great quality & easy to use . Was expensive but so worth the investment.

This has to be the most OUTSTANDING bread slicer on the market. AND as a bonus, it does a great job on cheese as well (we have fought with a myriad of cheese slicers, but all were a disappointment. This amazing slicer may be kind of pricey - but in this world, you want quality, ya gotta spend a bit more. You won’t regret it!!

So helpful for slicing sourdough bread! We’ve used it some for meat, but for the most part, it’s used
for bread and it does an amazing job. Love it!

The Ritter was the third slicer I tried after using a Zassenhaus, and a commercial electric slicer. The first two were definitely n ot what I was looking for. Although the Zassenhaus seemed like a good fit, there were technical issues that need to be resolved before it could even compare to the Ritter. For example, when slicing, the Ritter has a bar on the backside that holds the bread near the actual body, so the handle does not catch it and rip it as it comes out of the back. The other one does not and ends up ruining countless slices of bread. I also found the Ritter to operate much smoother. I would recomment this manual slicer to anyone looking to evenly slice homemade bread, etc.
