Westmark Cherry Pitter "Kirschomat" - #4070

Used this cherry pitter for my canning this year and it worked great.

I have read a few comments about this and have a couple of comments. It would be nice if the plastic tray and holder were a little more stout.I can see it flex when using and worry about it cracking. Also, we are pitting Pie Cherries which are smaller and have a tendency to jam up if we don’t feed the cherries one at a time. Otherwise we really like it so far.🍒🍒

I've had two other cherry pitters both were all plastic construction. This pitter has a metal handle that was more secure. I did not chew up the rubber gasket each use. Cherry size matters. Small cherries can miss the pitting process altogether while larger cherries get stuck. I will say that my counters and walls look less like a cherry juice crime scene. I am still getting used to the pitter and have more cherries with pits compared to the prior pitters I've had. I'm chalking it up to user error and size of the cherry. The pitter is expensive, but solidly built and worth the money.

The cherry pitter was easy to assmble and use. Unfortunately, dozens of pits were left in the cherries and made double the work to find them and remove.

This stoner is easy to maintain, plus you can easily buy the small cleaners that are inserted. One of the other stoners that I have is impossible to buy parts for. This one beats them all, and made of solid strong materials.

I am very happy with the pitter and service. I was able to process thousands of cherries in very little time with minimal mess. Price for expedited shipping was reasonable and timely. This will be useful for years to come!

It works very well most of the time. Cherries must be encouraged into the feed hole to prevent jamming. One must also watch for occasional missed pits and stuck cherries. Eventually, you will hear if there is a problem. The back support for the blade does bend a bit, which can cause jams, but the problem can be fixed by switching it. It does bend back and there is a spare. There is an internal spring and blade, so prompt cleaning is required. Overall, I am very happy with it!

Worked better than expected on our cherry crop. A few pits got through but not all cherries are the same size. Did the work advertised.

I have used your earlier models of cherry stoners for some years, but they came to the end of their useful life.
So I purchased two of the new models to be sent to Australia. They arrived very quickly - that was good as we are in our early summer harvest period.
The puncher unit is much more sturdy that the earlier model, so I found this to be a very good improvement.
The design concept of a rectangular base box is better than the elliptical version of the earlier model.
However, I have found two problems.
1. the puncher unit did not fit securely into the plastic base box. it would be better if the design of the base included a 2 - 3 mm outside 'lip' so the unit would hold firmly.
2. the cherry feeder tray did not fit securely into the assembled unit. The little vertical plastic sections on its bottom part did not allow for it to sit into the rectangular base tub.
I do hope that this feedback will encourage you to make some minor modifications to your design... because overall it is the best unit on the market.

So quick and easy we may have to start a side business selling cherry pie!

I like the design of the pitter, the cherries need a little help feeding as they frequently ‘bunch up’ at the entry point. I alway cut the pitted cherries in half to insure no pits get through. Out of five pounds of cherries I found four or five pits that had gotten through…not bad, but even one is too many if you value your molars. Also, the plastic feed tray upon which the metal pitting device attaches is showing stress cracks after the first use, but I believe a lighter blow on the plunger would help alleviate this without affecting the effectiveness of the machine. All in all it’s much faster, cleaner and more comfortable than previous jar top pitters I have used. I would recommend giving it a try!

It was awesome…seldom missed a cherry. Love that you could pit handfuls at a time. So much more efficient than one at a time. I would recommend it to anyone!!🍒🍒🍒

We have had so much fun picking cherries and then pitting them when we get home. The cherry pitter is great quality and has held up well to young users pushing down the pitter lever. My only complaint would be that some cherries end up with a hole through but the pit remains inside. Possibly an issue with the cherries not seating correctly in the pitter. Overall we are very happy with our purchase. Thankyou Loewen META!

This is a great cherry pitter. It goes together easily and my 5 year old granddaughter had fun pushing the plunger. It works great & Im very happy with my purchase!

Outstanding! I’ve had others that are similar but this one is much stronger and sturdier to really be able to get after those cherries. $$ but well worth it

Purchased the 4070 cherry stoner and two spare parts packs. Both of the spare parts packs include the much softer (older design) tan strippers instead of the red ones that came with the 4070. Reviews say this stoner works with the smaller cherries, which it does, but not with the old design strippers that are still being shipped in the spares kits. In recent communications with support, they say nothing is wrong and made no effort to send the correct new design spares. So I bought a bunch of stuff that I can't use. You can't buy the red strippers without buying a complete new 4070.

Service was fast and friendly. Product arrived in good condition abd operates as advertised.

This product is the best so far l have ever had, the reason why I marked four stars, because it is not perfect, on a way I had to verify if pits went in a right place. Machine looks strong, so look forward to use it next year.
